+39 0564 407098 – e-mail. centrovisite@parco-maremma.it.

by plaintiffs who won their viagra lawsuit in court in 2010 redacttion – The good news that do not make headlines… The beautiful Abbey of San Rabano, a symbol of Maremma, accessible and visitable back after a decade-long isolation.

Cut shrubs and dense vegetation that completely invaded the area and removed the fence that surrounded the abbey not allowing access, San Rabano back to being accessible. You can take a short tour in the walls of the monastery, with the assistance of information boards and leaflets.

The route that I propose to enter the heart of the Maremma Park is by the guide-environmental Michael Colombini is a combination of the two routes that best represent the park.

Once in Pratini with the shuttle bus provided by the park, we immerse ourselves in the woods of scrub Uccellina. Going up the steep slope we reach in a short time a few clearings where the trail begins to soften and keep us in share offering, from time to time, wonderful views of the coast, the towers of Castel Marino and Collelungo Argentario to Monte Amiata. Reached the summit of Poggio Lecci (417 m), you can see the island of Giglio and Montecristo, Elba and the beautiful Cala di Forno and feel the salty wind in the face of the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Going into dense forest, appear suddenly among the trees, the clear and powerful bell tower of the Benedictine Abbey of San Rabano with its architectural complex consists of a church, a monastery and a watchtower called ” Uccellina “(XIV sec.).

The route continues through the dense forest where the turrets will allow us to soar over the treetops allowing us to enjoy one of the wildest and most beautiful landscapes that offers the Tuscan coast. When you reach the “Road of Olives” and through a path that winds first in thick scrub and then in a more arid and open, we reach the Tower of Castel Marino. From the rock on which stands the tower will have the opportunity to enjoy one of the most beautiful in the Park with unforgettable views! Below, the vast Pineta Granducale implanted in the early nineteenth century by Leopold II of Lorraine, which extends north to the river Ombrone.
Along the coast there is no settlement over the towers that were placed on the highest points of the Uccellina to deal with the pirates. These evocative fortifications, built between the eleventh and twelfth century. formed a sophisticated alarm system connected to the fortresses of Castiglione and enjoyed.

Going down a steep path we reach the pine forest up to the sea through a bell ‘dune environment. After a well-deserved break on this wide and wild beach, we head towards the headland on which stands the Tower of Collelungo. Reached the “Road of Olives”, surrounded by marvelous ancient olive trees, we return to Pratini.

One described is a day trip without difficulty and on the ring circuit. If you want to live with Michael Colombini www.vadoevedo.it or directly contact the park visitor center Visitor Center AlbereseTel. +39 0564 407098 – e-mail. centrovisite@parco-maremma.it.
