But let’s get a little ‘to the history of this literary magazine … It was on 1 January 1913 when, in Florence Giovanni Papini and Soffici, praising “the man only, intelligent and open-minded,” based Lacerba:
“This will be a sheet of tune, shocking, unpleasant and personal.” From the first page of Lacerba, “Introibo,” ring the ideas on which will hold the critical line and the ideal fortnightly, also innovative in the graphic and the energies that will unleash “the full right to contradict ‘,’ Freedom. Do not ask for anything else “;” Art: justification of the world ‘,’ Long live the life. ” Lacerba involve known and unknown names who went to the boarding of traditionalism, academicism, right-thinking, of tradition, of the double-professorial intronata in the quiet life of the bourgeoisie. Targets were the good sense and common sense.
Papini and Soffici – ready for battle, as the knight in the engraving by Spadini for Leonardo – lashes out against an enemy figurative novel Don Quixote to the conquest of the mills that will prove to be indestructible. Will the other hand, with defiance of the most – during the Great Futurist Evening Lacerba, at the Teatro Verdi in Florence, December 12, 1913, “on the one hand (on the stage)» 6 futurists, “the other side (in the room): 5,000 enemies »- to to ignite the fire in the sensitive parts of the culture not only national.
Will be called Cubism and Futurism then their liaisons: from 15 March 1913 to 1914, the year of the liveliest battles, with Marinetti, Boccioni, Carrà, Severini, Balla, Russolo, Buzzi, will be called pure poetry, with Palazzeschi Jahier, Bell, Thunderbolt, Lebrecht, Sbarbaro, Ungaretti, Govoni, Titta Rosa, Cangiullo. And others will take flight from Lacerba: Ottone Rosai, Gigiotti Zanini, Nicola Galante, who will have a great destiny in the art. Heed the call from Paris blood relatives Soft: Apollinaire, Remy de Gourmont, Anna Gerebzova, Roch Grey [Hélène d’Oettingen], Max Jacob, Archipenko, Picasso.
When war broke out, Lacerba take a running start to jump into the abyss and the violent campaign interventionist will be the last battle which will not be reborn. But as long as he lives, from 1 January 1913 to 22 May 1915 will be the instrument of a given form and style, irrational and aesthetic result and symptom of experiences in the first person by its main architects.
