Per tre giorni la centralissima Piazza Guerrazzi di Cecina, sulla Costa degli Etruschi, sarà un vero e proprio salotto letterario grazie alla prima edizione di “Cecinautori. Festival della letteratura, delle arti e dello spettacolo”.
Un nuovo festival dedicato alla letteratura e ai libri che si svolgerà venerdì 2, sabato 3 e domenica 4 agosto organizzato dalla Fondazione Culturale Hermann Geiger. Ideale prosecuzione di “Un Parco di Autori”, fortunatissimo evento che per tre anni ha portato sulla Costa Etrusca tra i più grandi nomi della cultura italiana, che da quest’anno il festival si sposta nel pieno centro di Cecina.
Tante le novità di questa manifestazione, direzione artistica di Alessandro Schiavetti, che mira a collocarsi tra gli eventi estivi di punta nel panorama toscano e nazionale tra quelli dedicati alla letteratura e ai libri.
Tra gli ospiti già confermati uno dei grandi del cinema italiano, Giuseppe “Pupi” Avati, regista, sceneggiatore, produttore cinematografico e scrittore, la scrittrice Antonella Boralevi, lo scrittore e sceneggiatore, nonché sindaco del comune di Rosello Federico Moccia e l’esperto di comunicazione Marco Santarelli, ma non mancheranno ancora molte sorprese.
Ogni giorno si alterneranno incontri e dibattiti con gli scrittori più amati che presenteranno le loro opere, i loro punti di vista, i loro pensieri con tre appuntamenti.
Alle 19 l’incontro dedicato alla letteratura e saggistica, alle 21.30 con il grande autore presentato dalla giornalista e scrittrice Elena Torre e alle 23 con la scienza.
Infine la novità del Premio Letterario Fondazione Culturale Hermann Geiger che sarà assegnato da una apposita giuria ad un giovane autore esordiente che ha già pubblicato un libro.

A new festival dedicated to literature and books that will take place on Friday 2, Saturday 3 and Sunday, 4 August organized by the Fondazione Culturale Hermann Geiger. Ideal continuation of “A Park for Authors” lucky event that for three years has brought on the Etruscan Coast of the biggest names of Italian culture, which this year the festival moves to the center of Cecina.
Several news of this event, the artistic direction of Alexander Schiavetti, which aims to rank among the events in the peak summer Tuscan landscape and national level between those devoted to literature and books.
Among the guests already confirmed one of the greats of Italian cinema, Giuseppe “Pupi” Avati, director, screenwriter, film producer and writer, author Antonella Boralevi, writer and screenwriter, as well as the mayor of Rosello Federico Moccia and the expert communication Marco Santarelli, but there will be many more surprises.
Each day will alternate meetings and discussions with the most beloved writers who will present their works, their points of view, their thoughts with three appointments.

Finally, the novelty of the Fondazione Culturale Hermann Geiger Literary Prize will be awarded by a special jury to a young novice author who has already published a book.

di Nadia Fondelli – Torna, come ormai da tradizione a San Vincenzo, nel cuore del litorale livornese, l’annuale inno al pesce azzurro: quello verace del mare nostrum meno celebrato, ma decisamente benefico dal punto di vista salutaristico più di tanti altri pesci celebrati dagli chef più modaioli.
”La Palamita” quest’anno ci aspetta tutti il 4 e 5 maggio per la sua ottava edizione. Questa straordinaria rassegna enogastronomia del mare ci farà scoprire tutto il pesce azzurro in tavola con cibo da strada, degustazioni e tanta allegria fra il mercatino delle tipicità di Piazza Vittorio Veneto e i menù, aperitivi e cene a tema proposti dalle attività di San Vincenzo.
Protagonista assoluto ovviamente il pesce che da il nome alla rassegna, ovvero la palamita di cui, forse non avrete mai sentito parlare, ma sappiate però che siamo di fronte ad un pesce fratello minore del tonno e dello sgombro, scarso di spine e dalla carne gustosa che trova in cucina applicazione in un numero infinito di ricette.
La palamita oggi è un icona di tutto il cosiddetto “pesce povero” oltrechè essere un simbolo stesso di San Vincenzo tanr’è che è un presidio slow food che ha fatto, con grande successo, il suo debutto anche al Salone del Gusto di Torino, vero e proprio punto di riferimento del settore gastronomico.
Nella festa tutti coloro che arriveranno a San Vincenzo potranno scoprire tutti i pregi di questo straordinario prodotto vessillo della tradizione ittica italiana e fulcro dell’economia di queste zone.
Potrete provare le polpette di palamita, la palamita in forno con pomodorini oppure quella con cipollotti freschi e fagioli tanto per stuzzicarvi l’appetito.
Ma non solo. In questa originale festa del mare non fatevi mancare gli assaggi anche di tutte le altre prelibatezze, sorelle della palamita che con essere condividono la definizione di pesce azzurro ovvero: le sardine alla mediterranea, il tonno briaco, gli acerti in cartoccio con la mentuccia, la spuma di sgombro, le sardine sotto pesto, etc…
L’offerta e infinita e le vostre papille gustative ne godranno!
Un suggerimento da non mancare a cui potete aggiungere il fascino della primavera salmastra tirrenica, le uscite in barca a vela, le leggende che i pescatori del posto sono sempre pronti a narrarvi e la certezza che potrete incontrare fra le vie di San Vincenzo tanti nomi illustri che ben hanno capito l’importanza per la loro salute di nutrirsi con questo cibo sano, amico del portafoglio e totalmente made in Italy!
by Nadia Fondelli – The annual anthem to oily fish is back again, as is the tradition in San Vincenzo, in the heart of the Livorno coastline. The lesser celebrated fish from our sea, but undoubtedly much more beneficial in terms of health than the many other fish lauded by the hip chefs of the day.
”La Palamita” awaits us all on 4 and 5 May for its seventh year. This extraordinary seaside food and wine event lets us discover all those oily fish with street food, tastings and lots of fun on the local produce market in Piazza Vittorio Veneto and the menus, happy hours and themed dinners offered by businesses in San Vincenzo.
The star of the show is obviously the fish which gives the event its name, that is the bonito, which you may never have heard of, but you should know that this is the little brother of the tuna and mackerel, lacking in bones and with a delicious flesh that is used in an infinite number of recipes in the kitchen.
The bonito is now an icon of all the so-called “poor fish”, as well as being the symbol of San Vincenzo itself. It is also safeguarded by the Slow Food movement, successfully making its debut at the Salone del Gusto di Torino, a real point of reference of the gastronomic sector.
In the festival everyone who arrives in San Vincenzo will be able to discover all the benefits of this extraordinary product of the Italian fish tradition and the centre of the economy in these areas.
You can try bonito patties, baked bonito with cherry tomatoes or bonito with fresh spring onions and beans to satisfy your appetite.
That’s not all. At this original seaside festival make sure you taste all the other morsels, sisters of the bonito which shares the title of oily fish, that us Mediterranean-style sardines, tuna cooked in alcohol, mackerel baked with mint, mackerel mousse, sardines in pesto, etc.
The choice is endless and your palate will love them!
Just a suggestion to add the charm of the Tyrrhenian brackish spring, take a sailing boat trip and listen to the myths that the local fishermen are already ready to tell you and the certainty that you encounter lots of illustrious names in the streets of San Vincenzo who understood the importance of eating this healthy food, a friend to your wallet and genuinely Italian!

di Giuseppe Raimondi – Giampaolo Talani è il grande autore di “Partenze”, un affresco di 70 metri quadri nel salone centrale della stazione ferroviaria di Santa Maria Novella; del “Marinaio” una scultura di sette metri che domina il Porto Turistico di San Vincenzo, e di tante opere di grande impatto emotivo realizzate con sentimento, grande maestria tecnica e uno stile inconfondibile. Abbiamo sentito l’artista.
Quando inizia l’amore per la pittura?
Da sempre; fin da bambino.
Ho fatto il Liceo Artistico e l’Accademia delle Belle Arti di Firenze.
Da ragazzo ho affrescato la Chiesa di San Vincenzo. Poi sono iniziate le prime mostre, i primi successi.
La mia è una storia semplice; tutto il mio lavoro è permeato dalla ricerca della semplicità; dobbiamo tendere alla semplicità che è eccezionale; spesso invece siamo bravissimi a complicarci l’esistenza dimenticando che le cose semplici sono spesso le meno banali.
I temi delle sue opere?
Nei miei quadri si parla, appunto, di cose semplici, di sentimenti: l’amore, la ricerca dell’altro, la solitudine, le partenze, la scoperta… Emozioni in cui tutti si ritrovano.
Mi piacciono le storie della gente, le storie dei sentimenti – che sono i sentimenti di tutti.
Altri temi che prediligo sono il mare, il vento, la musica, la femminilità.
L’amore resta uno dei valori più importanti: incontrarsi, capirsi. Questa per me è l’arte.
Il suo rapporto con la musica?
Fin da piccolo sono stato molto attratto dalla musica; vengo da una famiglia di musicisti e ho studiato pianoforte per 10 anni; poi, ho avuto altri interessi. Sono comunque sempre un appassionato e ho una collezione di pianoforti e di organi elettronici. Amo suonare il Jazz e il Blues. Vorrei saper suonare meglio; oggi la musica è soprattutto un hobby; è un po’ la balena inseguita e mai raggiunta.
Il suo rapporto con il mare?
Il mare è la mia vita; potrei dire di essere nato “sotto l’ombrellone”. Vivo a San Vincenzo, a 30 metri dal mare e lo vivo come un’esperienza quotidiana da sempre.
La mia famiglia ha uno stabilimento balneare: il bagno “Venere”. Ho fatto il bagnino per 25 anni con tutto ciò che questo comporta, dai grandi impegni di gestione alle responsabilità dei salvataggi, fino al fascino delle avventure estive.
Il lavoro di bagnino ha dato molto alla poetica del pittore che in definitiva mette su tela l’umanità. Io credo molto nell’Uomo; l’uomo che ha fatto la cupola del Brunelleschi e la nona di Beethoven; ma anche il terrorista e quello che ha sganciato l’atomica su Hiroshima. Questo è l’Uomo; ma io resto ottimista, c’è sempre una speranza – come una rosa che si deve tenere fra i denti.
La figura del “Marinaio”?
E’ Marinaio chi ha la curiosità, la voglia di andare oltre, di capire gli altri per comprendere e comprendersi. Io mi sento un “marinaio di spiaggia”; ma in fondo siamo tutti marinai – anche in città o in montagna.
Cosa significa essere Toscano?
Io sono orgoglioso di essere Toscano e ammetto di avere tutti i difetti dei Toscani: siamo polemici, rissosi, litigiosi, ma sinceri e mai cattivi.
Un aneddoto che ricorda volentieri
Nel 1992 sono stato ricevuto da papa Wojtyla perché ero stato incaricato di affrescare il Palazzo Vescovile di Massa Marittima.
Mi sono presentato con un abbigliamento un po’ sportivo e l’addetto della segreteria non voleva farmi passare. Ho cominciato a replicare e a discutere educatamente ma con fermezza; in fondo avevo la cravatta in tinta con la giacca – in pelle.
A un certo punto, ci siamo accorti che il Pontefice era dietro di noi; aveva seguito la discussione e rideva; sì, rideva a crepapelle; era piegato in due dal ridere –anche lui è un uomo.
La questione fu risolta e il Papa addirittura si scusò dicendo che ero un artista e che quindi potevo vestirmi come volevo. When did your love for painting begin?
It’s always been there since I was a kid. I went to art college and the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. As a young man I frescoed the church of San Vincenzo.
My first exhibition and successes then began.
Mine is a simple story. All my work is permeated with the search for simplicity. We must tend towards simplicity, which is exceptional; on the other hand, we’re often very good at complicating life, forgetting that the simple things are often the least banal.
What are the themes of your works?
In my paintings I actually talk about simple things and sentiments: love, searching for that other person, solitude, departures, discovery… Emotions that everyone feels from time to time.
I like people’s stories, the stories of sentiments – the sentiments of others.
Other themes that I prefer are the sea, the wind, music and femininity.
Love is still one of the most important values: meeting and understanding one another. That’s art for me.
What is your relationship with music?
Since I was a child I have always been attracted to music. I come from a family of musicians and I studied piano for ten years. But I had other interests. I still love it and I have a collection of pianos and electronic organs. I love to play jazz and blues. I’d like to know how to play better; now music is a hobby above all. It is the goal I’ve pursued and never achieved.
What about your relationship with the sea?
The sea is my life. You could say that I was born under a parasol. I live in San Vincenzo, 30 metres from the sea and it has always been a daily experience for me.
My family has a bathing establishment called Venere. I worked as a lifeguard for 25 years, with everything that entails, from the hard work of management to the responsibilities of lifesaving, as well as the wonders of summer romances.
Working as a lifeguard gave me a lot in terms of the poetics of being a painter, putting humanity on the canvas once and for all. I believe very much in mankind; the man who created Brunelleschi’s dome and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, but also the terrorist and man who released the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. That’s mankind, but I’m still an optimist and there’s always hope – like a rose that you grip between your teeth.
And the figure of the sailor?
Sailors are curious, they have the willpower to go beyond, to understand others to understand themselves. I feel like a beached sailor, but at the end of the day we’re all sailors – even in the town or mountains.
What does it mean to be Tuscan?
I’m proud to be Tuscan and I admit that I have all the faults of being Tuscan; we’re polemical, quarrelsome and argumentative, but sincere and never bad.
Do you have an anecdote that you’re happy to remember?
In 1992 I was received by Pope Wojtyla as I was commissioned to fresco the Palazzo Vescovile in Massa Marittima.
I turned up wearing something that was a bit too sporty and the secretary wouldn’t let me through. I started to talk back and politely yet firmly discuss the matter. After all, I have wearing a tie that was in tone with my – leather – jacket.
At a certain point, we realised that the Pope was behind us. He had followed the discussion and was laughing. Yes, he laughed, fit to bursting; he was bent in half with laughing – after all, even he is a man.
The matter was resolved and the Pope actually said sorry, saying that I was an artist and that I could therefore wear what I wanted. From then on, I’ve always felt freer in my dress sense… Well, the Pope said so!
