di redazione – Siamo animalisti convinti e solitamente non facciamo questo tipo di appelli da una testata giornalistica culturale e turistica, ma abbiamo deciso di rompere questo muro nella certezza che la salvaguardia della natura e quindi degli animali sia una forma primaria di cultura per ogni popolo.
Evitare il randagismo non vuol dire solo (e scusate il solo!) salvare cucciolate intere da un destino infausto a cui gli hanno condannati gli uomini civili, ma vuol dire salvaguardare un fondamentale diritto: quello di vivere e di tenere equilibrio nella natura.
Tante le associazioni, tutte di volontariato, a cui va il nostro pensiero, ma abbiamo deciso di rispondere e dare voce all’appello che ci ha rivolto la sezione Oipa di Pistoia a cui siamo legati da un affetto felino perché l’amorosa cucciola ronfante che divide l’appartamento con me deve la vita a loro.
L’appello lo lancio ora. Prima e durante le ferie forse in tanti, troppi vi hanno lanciato appelli contro l’abbandono ed eravate sordi. Ora spero i vostri orecchi siano più inclini all’ascolto.
La sezione Oipa di Pistoia è al collasso. Continue sono le richieste di aiuto da parte di chi trova cucciolate e gattini abbandonati, bisognosi di cure, spesso anche costose e in cerca di un posto sicuro.
La sezione Oipa di Pistoia è allo stremo delle forze, non hanno più uno “stallo” libero, non hanno più pappe, non hanno più soldi per sostenere le cure di questi angeli.
Anzi, hanno accumulato diversi e consistenti debiti con i veterinari di fiducia che fortunatamente hanno un gran cuore e tanta pazienza.
Il risultato è che non si trovano più nelle condizione di poter salvare neanche uno e questo vuol dire cuccioli che cresceranno randagi, cuccioli che forse non arriveranno al prossimo mese perché magari in strada… perché non sarà più possibile curarli.
Il lavoro della sezione Oipa di Pistoia è incessante durante tutto l’anno anche se sono solo una decina di volontari in tutto e sono riusciti sempre a far fronte a tutto, ma adesso senza l’aiuto delle persone che hanno a cuore la nostra stessa causa non potranno più proseguire.
Servono pappe, servono farmaci, servono donazioni.

The section Oipa of Pistoia is weary and tired , have no longer a “stalemate ” free , have no more baby food, do not have more money to support the care of these angels . di redazione – Da fine giugno è aperto il primo Parco vivaistico d’Europa, Pistoia Nursery Park, a metà tra un giardino botanico e una collezione di piante esemplari, che coniuga arte, creatività, design e luce in un progetto assolutamente avveniristico.
Un luogo del genere non poteva che nascere nel pistoiese, territorio italiano da sempre vocato a questa produzione, grazie alla famiglia Vannucci, la cui tradizione nel settore vivaistico risale al 1938 e che si è sempre contraddistinta per la particolare sensibilità verso l’importanza e il rispetto delle piante come strumento fondamentale per l’ecosistema e la vita dell’uomo.
L’inaugurazione è stata una vera e propria festa in cui non è mancata l’inaugurazione anche dell’opera dell’artista Claudio Parmiggiani, Le mani che trattengono le ore, una colonna realizzata in marmo di Carrara, alta 15 metri circa, commissionata apposta per il parco che dialogherà permanentemente, in perfetta armonia, con la bellezza degli alberi secolari che la circondano.
Uno spazio di oltre 10 ettari, dove i percorsi morbidi e irregolari rompono le geometrie a cui siamo abituati e dove trovano ospitalità grandi esemplari di piante, oltre un migliaio, tra i più belli e scenografici esistenti, sapientemente abbinate per varietà, specie, colore e altezza.
Qui sono sistemate, per citare solo alcune specie, Aceri di natura diversa, da quelli giapponesi a quelli autoctoni come l’Acer campestre, Albizie, Betulle, quattro varietà di Ippocastani, grandi arbusti di Corbezzolo, Bagolari, Frassini, Platani, Pioppi, Querce, Salici, Tigli, un esemplare di Broussonetia papyrifera, Carpini e Catalpe, gli imponenti Cedri, i Cornus, il Liquidambar, re dei colori autunnali, e ancora Gelsi, Noci, Meli, grandi esemplari di Magnolie e grandi Allori.
Il Pistoia Nursery Park ha la caratteristica di modificarsi in continuazione, le piante “sostano” nel parco in attesa di trovare la loro collocazione definitiva in qualche giardino del mondo, dando un’opportunità all’architetto paesaggista di immaginare concretamente la futura posizione dei vari esemplari. Fino a quella data, però, saranno i protagonisti assoluti della scena in tutta la loro maestosa bellezza, in una rassegna di specie botaniche, dimensioni e portamenti unici nel loro genere.
Il parco è stato voluto e realizzato dalla famiglia Vannucci che ha realizzato negli anni progetti in oltre 50 paesi in tutto il mondo, fra i quali ricordiamo il Parco di Eurodisney a Parigi, il verde delle Olimpiadi di Torino, Atene e Londra, Il giardino di Backingham Palace a Londra, il giardino del Padiglione Italiano all’Expo 2010 di Shanghai e moltissimi altri prestigiosi progetti.

The Pistoia Nursery Park has the feature to change the time, the plants “they stop” in the park waiting to find their permanent home in some garden of the world, giving an opportunity to landscape architect to imagine concretely the future position of the different sheets . Until that time, however, will be the protagonists of the scene in all their majestic beauty, in a review of botanical species, sizes, and behaviors unique.
The park was built by the family wanted and that Vannucci has achieved over the years projects in more than 50 countries around the world, among which we mention the Disneyland Park in Paris, the green of the Turin Olympics, Athens and London, The Garden of Backingham Palace in London, the garden of the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2010 in Shanghai and many other prestigious projects.

di redazione – Una festa speciale quella della rievocazione del suggestivo borgo di Montevettolini che si rinnova solamente ogni tre anni e che intende far rivivere la passione e morte di Gesù in uno degli angoli più suggestivi della Toscana.
La “Festa Grossa” farà rivivere il borgo medievale così attaccato alla sua festa da non averla abbandonata nemmeno nel periodo della guerra.
La festa è intitolata al prezioso Crocifisso ligneo del XIV secolo, forse proveniente dalla pieve di S. Lorenzo a Vaiano, che oggi è conservato nella pieve dei Santi Michele Arcangelo e Lorenzo Martire di Montevettolini.
Anche se ancora non sono certe le origini, la devozione al Crocifisso sembra nascere come ringraziamento allo scampato pericolo dalla pestilenza (del 1570 o del 1630) ma si avanzano anche ipotesi collegate al miracolo del Crocifisso di Buggiano del 18 agosto 1399. Secondo la tradizione popolare la devozione risalirebbe al 1631, quando una grande pestilenza decimò gli abitanti del paese e che si arrestò solo per intercessione del Crocifisso cui, da allora, la popolazione dedicò una solenne processione di Ringraziamento nel giorno dell’Ascensione.
Successivamente, con il diffondersi della pratica della Via Crucis, la processione del Ringraziamento fu spostata al martedì dopo Pasqua, accorpandola ai riti pasquali, integrandola a quella del Venerdì Santo con la rievocazione in costume della salita di Cristo al Calvario.
Così oggi la “Festa Grossa” si articola in due momenti distinti: la rievocazione della passione e morte di Cristo, che si svolge il Venerdì Santo e la processione del ringraziamento che da alcune edizioni si tiene il Lunedì dell’Angelo.
Il Venerdì Santo, all’imbrunire, numerosi figuranti in costume dell’epoca si riuniscono in un imponente corteo che, in armonia con l’ambiente antico del luogo, attraverso una serie di quadri, fondati teologicamente e storicamente sul Vangelo, narrano la salita al Calvario.
Venerdì 29 marzo 2013, alle ore 17,00 iniziano le celebrazioni religiose e alle 18,00 ha inizio la solenne processione aperta dalla Croce della Passione e scortata da cavalieri, fanteria, soldati e figuranti. A chiusura del corteo la musica della Filarmonica Tonini di Montevettolini.
Da non perdere poi la festa del Ringraziamento del Lunedì dell’Angelo 1° aprile. In quest’occasione, all’inizio del Novecento, veniva portato in processione un grande ombrello a cui erano appesi fermati con spilli da balia, i soldi raccolti. Oggi i tempi sono cambiati e viene esposto solo un cartello con scritta la cifra raccolta…
Per Pasquetta la festa assume oltre al significato religioso anche quello di festa popolare paesana e quindi dalle 21.00 musica in piazza Bargellini e alle 23.00 gran finale con lo spettacolo pirotecnico che illuminerà nella notte il dolce profilo collinare del paese.

Vita, storie e leggende. Scrigni d’arte preziosi, opere d’arte che si svelano, giardini incantati… Sono oltre 700 i luoghi italiani, spesso inacessibili e per l’occasione eccezionalmente a disposizione del pubblico, con visite a contributo libero: chiese, palazzi, aree archeologiche, ville, borghi, giardini; persino caserme, centrali idroelettriche e un osservatorio astronomico.

Un’iniziativa perfetta per scoprire nel freddo d’inverno che precede il Natale un angolo di Toscana fatto di montagne, ma non solo di piste da sci. Promossa dalla Provincia di Pistoia, con gli enti locali, le categorie economiche e le associazioni del territorio ecco questo viaggio magico a bordo di un treno storico tra mercatini, intrattenimento e cultura da prenotare subito.
E’ sabato 8 dicembre la data giusta per quella che è la seconda edizione del “Treno dei Mercatini” unìesperienza che prende le mosse dal programma “Binari d’Italia”.
Un viaggio quasi senza tempo sulla Ferrovia Porrettana, a bordo del treno storico ETR 200, con sosta nelle stazioni di Piteccio, Castagno, San Mommè e Pracchia, per un assaggio natalizio dedicato alla montagna pistoiese e alle sue eccellenze.
Rispetto alla prima edizione dello scorso anno, l’iniziativa si arricchisce di tutta una serie di novità a partire proprio dalla formula proposta al viaggiatore, con un treno navetta che effettuerà più viaggi di andata e ritorno nel corso dell’intera giornata, e tutta una serie di eventi e iniziative per grandi e per piccini, con il coinvolgimento attivo delle Pro Loco locali, dei produttori e del mondo culturale della montagna.
